In the world of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) platforms, there are many options to go with. But if you’re looking for a true RevOps tool, HubSpot is what you need. As a platform that is designed to fundamentally break down the silos between different go-to-market teams, HubSpot unifies data, technology, and processes with a hub for every team all pulling into a single source of truth.
HubSpot has evolved over the years going from a single platform pricing model to a seats based pricing model which offers more flexibility and lower cost to entry for all organisations.
Fundamentally, HubSpot pricing is based on a number of elements. Their billing comes down to a simple formula: the sum of your subscription tier, the type of seats you need, and your marketing contact requirements.
That’s the simple formula, but like everything else HubSpot does, their pricing is structured in a way to allow you to purchase the tools you need at the tier you need, and then gives you access to the free versions of the tools so you can scale as needed.
Let’s take a deeper look at what your options are:
If you’re looking for a robust marketing platform with email automation, closed-loop campaign reporting and more, then you’ll want to look at Professional or Enterprise.
For these packages you pay the monthly platform fee per tier. This fee comes with
This essentially makes up your marketing pricing. But you’re then able to add additional seats and contacts as needed.
If you’re looking to start out with basic marketing tools, you can purchase Marketing Starter on a seats based basis, this tier comes with 1,000 marketing contacts.
Content Hub pricing works the same as Marketing Hub with a base price and built in seats. Content Hub is built to help you design converting websites and use your CRM data to personalise even more.
If you’re looking to build a simple, single brand website, Content Hub starter is an affordable option at only $15/mo/seat. But if you’re looking to take your business to the next level, Professional (comes with 3 core seats) or Enterprise (comes with 5 core seats) will offer you more features.
Spitfire Tip: Marketing hub and Content hub are great together and gives you a powerful tool for lead generation and personalised content. You can purchase these two Hubs together in the “HubSpot for Marketers” package at a discounted rate.
The element to be aware of here is that you can’t mix and match tiers on the same hub. That means that if you purchase one Enterprise Sales seat, if you need to add more seats in the future, they will all be at the Enterprise level.
However, you can mix tiers across hubs, for example Sales Enterprise with Service Professional.
Spitfire Tip: If you are looking to purchase multiple hubs, consider their bundle packages, known as Customer Platform, for better discounts and offers.
Commerce Hub is designed to streamline payments, invoicing, and subscriptions directly within the CRM, it partners great with Sales hub. It’s a robust CPQ tool that links seamlessly with your CRM data.
Commerce hub pricing is the same as sales and service, a simple seats based model. While you don’t need Sales hub to purchase Commerce hub, it’s highly recommended. And purchasing both allows for additional discounts.
Think of Data Hub as the quiet genius in the corner of the HubSpot family. It’s not front and centre all the time, but it’s the one making sure all your data actually behaves itself.
Data Hub is pricing like Marketing and Content hub with a base price. But Data hub offers only one seat regardless of the tier. This is because you’ll likely have at least one other Hub with Data hub and all data hub features can be accessed for any paid seat.
Spitfire tip: Data Hub Starter is a great option as an entry point as it’s designed for teams who are tired of wrestling messy spreadsheets and disconnected tools. It gives you a central place to sync, clean, and organise your data without needing a full data engineering squad lurking in the background.
HubSpot’s Smart CRM is built into all of your packages, so if you have any of the hubs, you get the Smart CRM automatically. But you can also purchase the Smart CRM as a standalone option if you’re looking for a basic AI-powered CRM.

This costing is also based on the highest option, if you choose to pay the full year up front, you will be able to get a discount.
HubSpot has a robust collection of AI tools called Breeze. These tools are built into the platform and are accessible with any Hub. When it comes to pricing, there are some free features available across all tiers, with more advanced AI tools consuming Credits.
At the free level, you’ll have access to AI features like Breeze Assistant, content drafting, and basic data insights. Enough to save time and smooth out the rough edges of day to day work.
The good news is that as part of the pricing for each hub and tier you get a number of Credits built into the cost. The number of Credits allocated is based on the Tier. The number of Credits given is standard across hubs except for Data hub which comes with more credits:

Enterprise |

Data Hub Enterprise |

Something to be aware of is that you’ll receive only one (the highest) allotment of Credits regardless of how many Hubs you have, the amounts are not added up. This means if you have, for example, Marketing hub Professional and Sales Hub Enterprise, you’ll get 5,000 credits.

HubSpot offers free versions of most of their hubs. You can start your journey with HubSpot by signing up for free and then purchasing as your requirements grow. With this option you get access to a suite of free tools across marketing, sales, service, and content. Enough to build momentum, test ideas, and start generating results without needing a full budget sign off.
Of course, there are limits. As your team grows or your processes become more complex, you will start to notice where the guardrails are. Advanced automation, deeper reporting, and more customisation live in the paid tiers. But that is by design. The free version is there to get you moving, not hold you back.
