It’s HubSpot product update time and we’ve got three of our favourite updates for July ready to go.
HubSpot is a remarkable platform crafted with the Inbound Methodology at its core. This ensures that the tool continuously evolves, employing an agile approach to remain the best solution for marketing, sales, and service teams - equipping them with the tools and capabilities to achieve their business objectives.
We love that HubSpot listens to its community, implementing monthly updates to enhance the platform, stay ahead of trends, and meet user needs
Each month we pick our top three updates for the month and show you how and why we think these updates will make a difference in your business.
Top three HubSpot Product Updates for July 2024:
- Add custom properties to User Object
To make your reporting even better, you can now create custom properties for user data onto the User Object, which can then be used to power reporting, automation, and more.
- User object added to reporting
Take your reporting to the next level with the ability to report on your user activity.
- New Lead Scoring tool
HubSpot has always had the HubSpot Score property which can be used to setup your lead scoring, but with this new Beta, you can take your lead scoring to a new level.

An additional July HubSpot Product Updates
HubSpot releases several updates a month, some small and some big. The top three covered above were our favourite for the month, but below are ones we are also excited about.
- Apply Taxes on Line Items
Anyone who has worked on quotes knows that the VAT field can be easily left out if your team don’t pay attention. You can now include the VAT field as a line item. Click here to see how to use this new function. Please note, once you create a Tax rate, you can’t delete it.
- AI list assistant
Creating a list can be complicated, especially if you’re working on HubSpot for the first time. With the new AI lists assistant, you can tell HubSpot what you want the list to be, and the AI assistant will help you build the trigger.
For those of you on an Enterprise portal, another update to lists is the “Refine custom events by number of times it was completed” update.
This update gives you the ability to refine your lists even more. You can now include an additional filter of “number of completion”. This gives marketers more robust lists which can help build more personalised communication.
- Zapier Custom Objects Support
Integrations just get better if you’re on an Enterprise portal. You can know sync Zapier integrations with custom objects. This will give you a better variety of workflow functionality including:
- Creating custom objects
- Updating custom objects
- Get custom objects
- Find custom objects
- Trigger Zaps when properties change on a custom object
- Trigger Zaps when a new record within a custom object is available
One of our Solutions Architect, Marlene Oosthuizen had this to say about this update:
“This update will streamline data automation and quality and is especially useful for those companies and industries that have complex solutions and use cases, but do not have in-house developers or the budget to build custom integrations.”
How to access Beta updates
Like we said, HubSpot loves to listen to its users, so not all updates are immediately live. Many start off in Beta where you have the opportunity to test and comment on these changes.
If you don’t see the update in your portal, you can enrol in the Beta. This is an easy and quick step to do. Take a look at the step-by-step process below for instructions:
Good to know: While the majority of features in Beta do go live, HubSpot doesn’t guarantee that every Beta will go live and may still be removed.
